Review of 13 trials examines mindfulness-based spiritual interventions in advanced cancer
Interventions combining mindfulness with meaning-centered or spiritual elements were grouped into hospital-based and remote programs.
A systematic review in the Journal of Multidisciplinary Healthcare included 13 randomized controlled trials of mindfulness-based interventions with explicit spiritual, religious or existential components for adults with advanced cancer.
Outcomes spanned psychological well-being, spiritual well-being (meaning, peace, faith, existential acceptance), engagement and attrition, and intervention delivery.
